Our 24-hour telephone medical advice service  is provided at no charge to policyholders having a Hospital or International Scheme. Policyholders opting for the Basic Scheme may subscribe to these additional benefits at a nominal fee of €5 per person per year. This service provides clients  with:
  • A dedicated 24-hour telephone number for Mediphone which is 22480218
  • General medical information  24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Orientation but not actual treatment. In case treatment is required the doctor on call can coordinate an appointment with himself or another doctor at a charge to the          client which may be recovered under the Health policy as a GP benefit
  • Information about medicinal prescriptions, reactions to medicines, side effects and contraindications
  • Baby care and maternity orientation
  • Health and diet recommendation
  • Advice on  preventive medicine
  • Medical reports explained in more simple language
  • Information on public and private medical centres in Malta and worldwide
  • Taxis and ambulance services at expense of client, with the latter being recoverable under the policy if the ambulance is medically necessary
