Fundación MAPFRE launches social awards to support international solidarity projects

The new edition of the Fundación MAPFRE Social Awards is set to recognize the commitment, generosity and solidarity carried out by people and institutions, and reward them for those outstanding actions which benefit society in its scientific, cultural and social spheres.

The social awards have an international scope and consists of a €120,000 prize. The deadline for submitting all documentation is March 10. In Malta, MAPFRE is represented by MAPFRE Middlesea and MAPFRE MSV Life.

The Social Awards consists of four categories. The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes people who dedicate themselves to improve the lives of others, not only from the professional, but also from the personal standpoint. To obtain this award, the jury will take into account the entire career of the candidate for the service of society and people, as well as their support for causes of solidarity.

The Award for the Entity with the Best Track Record in Social Causes is intended to reward the work of institutions or organizations that, throughout their career, have made relevant and effective actions in social and cultural matters, as well as in the field of safety, accident prevention, health and promotion of healthy habits. In order to obtain this award, factors such as the relevance and effectiveness of the projects carried out by the entity, the degree of innovation of the idea or initiative presented, and the facility to extend the initiative to other countries will be especially valued.

The Award for the Project or Initiative with the Best Social Impact recognizes differentiating projects that substantially improve the lives of many people in social, cultural, safety and accident prevention matters, as well as in the field of health and the promotion of healthy habits. The jury will especially appreciate the relevance, innovation and originality of the project, as well as its capacity to develop it in similar areas.

A newly launched award is the Award to the Best Initiative in the Agricultural Sector, with the aim of recognizing agricultural and livestock initiatives that stand out for being innovative and transformative in the systems of production, transformation and marketing of their products during 2018.
