MAPFRE employees spend afternoon with St John’s Rescue Corps

Employees of MAPFRE Middlesea and MAPFRE MSV Life recently spent a very interesting afternoon at Fort Madliena, participating in activities organised by the St John’s Rescue Corps.

The group of thirty employees attended a fire safety awareness course, followed by a tour of the premises and historical information of the Fort. The employees also helped the volunteers by cleaning the area, washed the ambulances and did some refurbishment works around the premises.

MAPFRE Middlesea supports St John’s Rescue Corps by providing insurance cover to the ambulances plus public liability insurance. It also provides financial help to cover the ongoing maintenance of existing rescue equipment and vehicles as well as procurement of new rescue equipment.

Following the activity, the two companies put forward a donation which will help St John’s to train new volunteers and prepare them in their mission to assist in emergency services.

St John Rescue Corps is a voluntary organisation that provides rescue services during community events and large scale rescue operations. These include events such as the Isle of MTV, Notte Bianca, the Beer Fest as well as national rescue exercises organised by the Civil Protection Department.
