Fundacion MAPFRE Awards to acknowledge entities contributing to society

€150,000 in funds to be won

Fundacion MAPFRE has launched the ninth edition of the international awards, aimed to reward the commitment of the people and institutions who have made outstanding contributions to society in the fields of science, culture and the humanities.
The awards, which are international and come with a cash prize of 30,000 euros each, are granted in six categories.

The Lifetime Achievement Award, José Manuel Martínez Martínez recognizes people who have a prolific and exemplary professional history in the service of people and society.

The Award for Best Social Action Initiative will reward people or organisations who have taken significant steps to improve the integration and quality of life of disadvantaged social groups, and to help them overcome physical, financial or social limitations.

The Award for the Best Health Promotion Initiative will acknowledge important contributions made by institutions or people to promoting health and improving quality of life.

The Award for the Best Accident Prevention Initiative is granted to organizations or people who have significantly contributed to the effective prevention and reduction of traffic, domestic, sports-related or leisure activity accidents.

The Julio Castelo Matrán International Insurance Award recognizes significant scientific research or innovative projects whose results have led to the expansion of insurance activities in society and contributed to economic stability and solidarity through insurance and/or social protection.
