Over 400,000 people benefit from volunteering by Fundacion MAPFRE in one year

In 2015, more than 400,000 people in 20 countries benefitted from volunteering by Fundación MAPFRE. In the span of a year, 2,000 volunteers took part in one of the 292 acts of solidarity, aimed at helping the most vulnerable of society.

These activities involved MAPFRE Volunteers from America, Asia and Europe and helped 423,997 people in 20 countries, especially people at risk of social exclusion. Volunteers dedicated more than 8,837 hours to activities related to nutrition, health, education and assistance in emergencies.

The projects involved community nutrition, donation campaigns, psycho-social support for people in difficult situations, financial literary, charity races, help with school work, building of homes, training for employment, fire prevention, road safety, prevention of harassment in social media, among others. Additionally, theoretical and practical workshops have been taking place with a view to raising awareness of charity/solidarity among four- to sixteen-year-olds.

In November, the Fundación MAPFRE Support Month focused on raising awareness on how to prevent traffic accidents.
