MAPFRE now ranks as the 412th most valuable brand in the world, according to the latest report compiled by consultants Brand Finance, moving up 56 places from last year. Local insurer, Middlesea Insurance, is a member of the MAPFRE Group,
According to the study, the MAPFRE brand is worth $3.55 billion, up $840 million on its 2013 valuation. MAPFRE is the only Spanish insurance group in the ranking, which features a total of 10 Spanish companies.
Brand Finance calculates the value of a given brand using a range of criteria, including revenues and profitability, as well as other metrics like emotional impact.
MAPFRE is a global insurance company with operations in 47 countries across five continents. It is the leading insurer in the Spanish market, the leading multinational insurance group in Latin America and one of the top 10 insurance groups in Europe in terms of premium volume. MAPFRE has over 36,000 employees and more than 23 million clients worldwide. In 2013 it reported net income of over €790 million on revenues €25.89 billion.
