Set up in 1982, and formerly known as the Mediterranean Insurance Training Centre, the Malta International Training Centre (MITC) is a non-profit making organisation committed to human resource development. As an international centre for education, it attracts students from diverse countries and has provided training to students from over forty different nationalities.

Shareholders
With its founding shareholder being Middlesea Insurance p.l.c., the centre's shareholders also include the Malta Financial Services Authority, the Malta Stock Exchange, the Malta Arbitration Centre and the Malta Insurance Association

Variety of programmes
The training programmes available at the centre, which is affiliated to established professional and academic bodies, focuses on a variety of fields. These include: Insurance, Corporate Risk Management, Bancassurance, Legal Arbitration, Sales and Marketing, General Human Resource Development, English for Business and Management.
