 Malta - An ideal location The Company's management team is able to draw on the experience of the Middlesea Group and its close relationship with the Malta Financial Services Authority to promote Malta as an ideal location for insurance companies, including captives. The Insurance Business Act 1998, whilst conforming to EU standards for insurance, introduced various provisions relating to captives which provide an attractive package to potential clients. Malta's accession to the EU on May 1, 2004 gives added impetus and provide, insurance companies registered and operating from Malta a much larger playing field than was previously available. Amongst other things, they will in particular, have the ability to bypass fronting arrangements. As the longest standing licensed insurance manager in Malta, IIMS welcomes this new era and looks forward to building on its reputation as the Island's preferred insurance manager for a wide range of insurance and reinsurance entities.
