Middlesea Chairman meets insurance brokers During a breakfast meeting organised by Middlesea Insurance plc, Mr Joseph F.X Zahra, Chairman of the company, expressed his vision for the organisation, that is, of setting a standard of quality and excellence whilst ensuring that the highest level of customer service and professionalism be maintained throughout. The meeting was an occasion for the Chairman and Management of Middlesea Insurance plc to meet the local Registered Insurance Brokers, and to reaffirm the positioning of the Company in the future. ‘We have been, we still are, and we shall remain the market leaders in Malta’ explained Mr Zahra ‘We have a very strong compliment of highly trained, qualified and experienced personnel’ continued the Middlesea Chairman ‘over the years Middlesea always encouraged and supported training within the different spheres of insurance’. He noted with satisfaction that a number of employees in the past have even used this as a ‘spring board’ to further their careers within the insurance industry in Malta and branching out into other sectors including the insurance broking community. Middlesea Insurance is supported by international reputable reinsurers namely Munich Reinsurance and Mapfre Internacional who are also major shareholders and business partners together with Bank of Valletta plc. Mr Zahra emphasized that these relationships serve to reaffirm the Company’s strength and stability and are important reference points which enable the Company to draw on their expertise to design innovative insurance products to meet local market expectations. The Chairman stated that the local business environment offers huge potential for further growth and innovation, and acknowledged that, in this scenario, the insurance brokers play a very important role as professionals and consultants to their clients. ‘Our ongoing objective shall be that of growth at a sustainable and profitable rate and of excelling in our service standards by offering our customers a range of comprehensive and innovative insurance solutions’ concluded Mr Zahra. Mrs Anne Marie Tabone, Chief Operations Officer closed the meeting by stating that Middlesea Insurance is currently embarking on a program to ensure that the highest level of customer service to all its brokers as well as clients is given at all times and announced that very shortly a Customer Charter will be issued to reaffirm the Company’s commitment in this regard.
